Big Island volcano tours

Volcanoes National Park is the single best reason to visit the Big Island. Kilauea has been intermittently erupting for years, the landscape is geologically active, and walking across lava fields feels nothing like the rest of Hawaii. You can do it self-guided, but the small-group tour with Hawaii Forest & Trail is the right call for first-timers. They've held National Park Service permits for over thirty years, cap groups at twelve people, and get into lava tubes and viewpoints most rental-car visitors miss. Lunch is included, sturdy shoes are required, and bring a layer because it gets cold at elevation.
